just an update to an earlier post i made about a spicer 3853- B trans.apparently it is a sucessor to the 3053. it is a 5 spd. o/d with a 4.62 first gear 2.55 second gear 1.5 third gear 1.00 fourth, and a .74 fifth. no info on gvw rating or physical dimensions yet .it was discontinued in august , 1970.seems to have a first gear better suited for moderate loads and hiway driving? it's currently behind a detroit 3-53 turbo that was in a chevy 1 ton p/u.i'll let you know more when i aquire the engine.
