5-6 sack concrete will reach primary cure in a minimum of 28 days from pour. It is best to wait an additional week or two before applying any finish to it. Some coatings will require wetting of the surface to induce better absorption. Follow the directions carefully. Personally I would NEVER paint concrete, unless you use a high quality (and quite expensive ) 2 part epoxy type coating. The best bet is to use a high quality liquid sealer like Burkes or Thoro-seal and apply it per instructions. It will last years longer and resist chemicals and stains.
