That does'nt sound right. Once the rims are bolted together, are'nt they just like any other rim? Is'nt the flap protecting the tube?
Maybe the COTM can chime in.
I am also mointing XL's on combat rims, I am just waiting for the tires to be delivered.
I hope this is not the case.
