4-53 as in the 4-53 Detroit Diesel engine, you know loud rattly 2 stroke oil leaking oil burner..:) lol, actually I was in the market for a 3 Cyl Detroit a while ago, I had planned to buy an old Hough payloader with a flat six Hercules gasser and Wanted to go diesel..but deal fell thru..So, I guess thats one less thing to worry about.
