Hi!I have a 69 W300 and will be glad to tell you what I can. Hopefully I won't give you more than you need but will tell you what I have found out over the years.I have an original stake bed on my truck.It originally came with single 8.00-16.5 tires.(4) My shop manual says it could have come with 8.75 and 9.50-16.5 tires. These tires were very unsatisfactory.As a result i put 7.50-16's on deepdish dual rims on the truck. Duals on the back, singles on the front. To answer your question,the outside distance between the tires is a fat 6 feet. If you have the 16.5 tires it may be a little wider. i have gathered this info from my shop manual and a sales brochure. hope this helps.
