Hybrids aside (they may well be a fad anyway unless they start powering them with diesels) with all of the new interest in fuel economy, what's old is new again. IN the next 10 years and starting with the low sulfur regulations on Jan. 1, 2007, you're going to see a huge movement to diesel. If everything was diesel powered today, we'd be using 30% less fuel already. The new diesels are quiet, cleaner than gasoline and 20-30% more efficient. I'd go to a diesel generator in a second! Cummins, Detroit Diesel and Mercedes have some amazing engines already in test vehicles. The future looks bright.
