Newer trucks don't use outer seals at all. Het, if 90 wt is good for the roller bearings in the differential, it's good enough for wheel bearings. Maybe 50 years ago 90wt couldn't do it. Or maybe leather seals couldn't hold 90 wt in like modern neoprene does...

Anyhow, you'll need to pull the hub, replace the inner seal and probably your brakes shoes too, if they got ANY grease on them. You can't get the grease out of them. Clean and repack the bearings with Wheel Bearing grease too, even if you leave the outer seal out.

How much brake work you do while in there is up to you. Rebuiding wheel cylinders, turning drums ( I don't) so you don't have to get in there again for a while. Get stuff for both sides? You don't have to do them both in one day...

I did let my NIASE Brake certification lapse- in 1985... YMMV
