Dave, the top image was taken from under the truck on the pasenger side looking up and forward. Notice how the rabbet in the block provides for clearance to a flange in the cab. The bottom image was taken from under the fender looking rearward.
Okay, you guys have shown me the error of my ways by using treated wood for the blocks. There are some pesky hedge trees in the fence row across the road. I have a hatchet and am going to go chop one down. Then, I will carve out some blocks with my pocket knife. ;^)
