I think the metric system has its place but think it was a huge mistake in regards to automotive service. There are too many sizes too close together. go to your tool box and take out a set of 3/8 drive metric sockets and then take out a set of 3/8 drive standard sockets. The size gain in the metric set is minimal compare to the standard set. In other words you can't see the difference in bolt head sizes when servicing a vehicle. On a standard vehicle I can look at a bolt and tell you what size the bolt is. on a metric vehicle I can't eyeball a bolt head and tell you if it is 14 or 15. So professionaly the metric system has slowed me down. And the thread sizes are not visibly recognizable either. Therefore there is no advantage at all. Just aggravation. Done ranting now. Steve
