You always get "Brownie Points" for having original equipment in palce and working.
Generally WW2 equipment was top spec and still works perfectly, so fit and forget. In the case of the radio filter I think that you just need to check you have complete circuits through the unit and that's about it. Even if it's junk NOS ones are available and generally cheap as no-one is THAT interested in them.
Even more points if you have the trailer connector box on the left rear of the chassis... 8~)
