Hi Glen,
I forget the year but another unexploded bomb wa sfound in the 70's or 80's by a family camping. These were inciderary devices and the plan was to ignite all of the forest along the Pacific Northwest, for the most part they didn't work but experts think that there are still devices hanging from the trees of Oregon, Washington and CA.
Just to add, Japanese mini subs shelled the coastal oil fields north of Los Angeles.
And there was a "phantom" attack on LA that was never confirmed to be either an attack or just hysteria. The movie 1941 was based upon the attack.
