Yep it can be done. As stated remove the steering wheel. Remove the splash panel (if it is still there). You will need to remove the starter to give you enough room to get the box rotated out of the frame. It is real tight and it took me awhile to get the shaft clear of the frame. The steering box will hit the 230 engine but find the right angle and it will come out. You then can feed it out the front of the truck above the axle (if you go below the axle you will need to have the truck up on a lift). You may need to remove the PTO shaft if you have a winch. Also I am not sure if the battery box comes out but I do not think it has to. It might be easier if you loosen the steering shaft tube and slide it up into the cab as it will give you a little more room for movement at the firewall (I do not remember if you can remove it with the cab in place before you move the steering box.
