Thanks Keith. I always appreciate your insight. Our system just terminated at the stubout for the tailpipe and there was nothing supporting it. When I removed (broke) the two bolts attaching it to the manifold, it came right down.
I didn't realize how expensive it is to replace it though (VPW). Tailpipe $20; Muffler $85; Exhaust pipe $36; Tailpipe support $12.50; Rear Muffler Support $20; Front muffler support $20. Total $193.50 plus shipping and you haven't begun to improve it yet.
Seems like there should be a better and less expensive way, but I'm no muffler shop owner.
