We gather here as a hobby, to help each other. To share in the fun of driving our trucks and to get needed assistance. There is no dispute that manuals are good to have. However, as an example, to spend big bucks on a book/manual just to hear how the author suggests installing a headliner is a huge waste of money. The authors of these books have their own ideas, right or wrong. Some of us have many trucks, including current. To have complete manuals can be costly, not wrong, but costly. This is especially true if you only get into small repairs. And then we get cheap reprints of manuals that have left out pages in the copy process, yet the cost is high.

Enter the Power Wagon Forum. We are here to help and support each other. Over the years I have been on the forum, I have read posts where some fear giving technical procedures for fear of being sued in case something goes wrong. I understand those concerns and accept your convictions. This may be a reason some point questions to printed manuals. I myself will share any knowledge I have in hopes it will help someone with a problem. There are many modifications, swaps, upgrades being made where no manual exists. Do we tell the person with the question to go find a manual or don't ask? I don't think this is help.

I answer post questions where I have knowledge and experience to provide the correct answer. If I don't have the correct answer, I simply DON'T POST A REPLY. As an example, all my Dodges have disk brakes. I have never adjusted a set of WC/PW/M37 Drum Brakes. I don't answer nor guess on drum brake problems, yet I will give all information I have on disk brake conversions and related problems.

I suggest that when a person asks a question, telling them to go get a manual is almost a flip off. If you can help with a answer and also give
Manual Reference this is fine, but answer the question or don't. One area where I always feel somewhat uncomfortable is when a person asks how tight to torque a fastener. I will give them the torque spec, but also the exact location in the Shop Manual where that spec is given.

We are here for fun lets keep it that way and help with repair procedures when we can.
