1948 B-1. My existing exhaust system attaches to the exhaust manifold, makes the rear bend underneath the cab then has the muffler with a 6" tailpipe. The system is short and the tailpipe terminates at the end of the transfer case. Maybe a total of 3 or 3-1/2' from the exhaust manifold.

Is this a typical exhaust system length terminating underneath the cab?

Any problem with lengthening it to end past the rear axle? If ok, what is the best way to accomplish it (where to place muffler in the system)?

The truck isnt driveable at this time. Should I just try to get parts from VPW or have fabricated locally?
