This job went so well today that I did not even have to call my wife out for an extra set of hands! I took an overall view of what I wanted to accomplish and see if I might pull it off on my own. I did the big overhead/cabside piece first. It looked as if I could single handedly do this if I took the top screws from the rear window frame but left the bottom ones in loose. That turned out to be the key for me as the cardboard sat right on that frame while I adjusted the fit in the front of the cab. The kit fit in real cleanly with a very minimum of trimming-probably caused by variance in how each of us would get the windlace installed. The carboard took the curves of the interior nicely and never did get any creases-lucky.

The other trick is the upholsterer's pal the ice pick. No shop should be without two ice picks-just too handly lining things up. The ice pick works so well for finding the old holes for the screws and making pilot holes in the cardboard.

I measured back from the front of the cab for where the holes were in the two over head mounts. I even hit the original hole on the first one I did but had to drill a new hole on the other side. I was pretty impressed to find the original hole since I figured I'd just be making new holes for this part of the install. I ended up using all the original holes for the metal retainer strips above the windshield and doors but then just made new holes for the rest of the screws I put in down the back of the doors.

Overall, a pretty easy project for a Sunday afternoon!
