That was a 99 cummins with 3:55 and a 5 speed it was much better, 18 unloaded and around 13-15 loaded. I have heard that the 04s were the worst for mileage. it seems to be a mongeral. It was just before the 600s came out. mine is the H.O.550
99.999% of the time the truck is empty and gets 12 when I am really trying. Now I will try to keep it under 2100rpm and see what happens. On my way home christmas eve, I wanted to see how high I could get the fuel mileage computer to go so I shifted at 1800 pmp and kept it REAL easy and I did about 13mpg according to that. I did figure my mileage by hand with the trip.
