I was going to put a 350 and SM465 in my 41, but ended up with a Buick 231 v6 and SM465. A SM465 or earlier SM420 will bolt right up to a 350, and are easy and cheap to find. A Dodge trans will require a custom bell housing or adaptor, which will cost more than a chev tranny. I bought 2 SM465's and put together 1 good unit for $130. I would go with a chev engine/tranny or Dodge engine/tranny.
