No Kidding guys.......

I work at Agriculture Canada and one of the most popular low cholesterol cooking oil.... Called CANOLA (stands for Canadian Oil Low Acid) was actually developed during the second world war as a marine lubricant.

Now they are pushing it as a biodiesel fuel and the promo handouts say that it has a "French Fry" smell in the exhaust.

explains why when I cook with it I fart like a diesel.....

Plain reality is that as a substitute to diesel it is far too costly...... but as an additive it thickens the fuel and better lubricates the high pressure pump.....as well as increase the cetane rating (something related to octane for easier ignition)..

Now don't rush and use domestic cooking oil in the old tractor...... it needs special refinements before you can add it to the fuel tank.

Just another bit of trivia when it gets too darn cold to work on the Beast
