I haven't started restoring my 49 B-1 yet, but I can tell you from past experience, the #1 most important step is research! Get as much info as you can about the truck. You've already found THE number one source of ALL things Power Wagon (this page/forum). I would recommend a copy of "Dodge Pickups, History and restoration Guide 1918-1971", this book is a plethora of info, pictures, parts resources and general restoration tips. It is written by Don Bunn and Tom Brownell, and can be found at Amazon.com.
Don't be afraid to ask questions. I ask the forum stupid questions all the time and haven't been abused too much ;)
