I would urge that it be restored to original military condition. After all, it is a rare truck. I can count on one hand how many 49's I've seen in military markings. Correction - make that one finger.
While I wince at Carryall's, Closed Cab pickups, M37's, etc., being painted in "civilian colors", there are at least enough of them that they are not rare.
But again, yours is rare.
Hey, look at the bright side - restore it and then get another PW so you can have a civilian truck too! (Think the wife/girlfriend would buy that?)
