If you want a farm truck then do it like a farm truck. Get the engine running. If need be, yank it and rebuild it yourself. It is a good do it yourself project if you want to learn about engines. Of course, you'd need to farm out the machine work. Then get the brakes working and do the axle seals. You may need to put in new U joints since it was a power line service truck. If the tires hold ait then you are ready to start driving. Then you can do the little stuff as needed. If you want a show truck then you'd probably be money ahead buying a ready to go show truck. The guys who own them will tell you they have more money in them then the truck is worth. Of course there is an inestimable value in doing your very own show truck.
