Your guess is correct, the first two numbers in the serial number indicates the year of manufacture. This works back to about 1944 when this coding began. A very good resource is a fellow by the name of Fank A. Brown. He is an Inside Sales Assistant for Braden and can be reached at 918-259-3302. He is an old time Braden employee and is chuck full of information.
