: : I get quite a few emails from people asking what to look for
: : when checking out a Power Wagon. I'd like to put together a list and
: : stick it in the "Glovebox".

: : Example:The frame should be solid and not seperating.
: : Look for a truck that has all its sheetmetal, becuase things like fenders are hard to find.

: : If you have tips for other Power Wagons besides the WDX-WM300 I can put those in too!

: Sheet metal, sheet metal, sheet metal. Everything else can be found. Spend more for straight complete bodies and frames unless you do body work.

I agree sheet metal is the most important, especially the tailgate which seems to disappear on virtually all PWs. The other thing I look for, is options. I have a list of options available for the year of the truck I am buying, and try to find the one with the best sheetmetal and the most options. Sometimes you can find someone who realizes they have an old truck that is worth some money, but they do not realize that they have a truck with an MU-2 winch and rear belt pulley, pintle hook, long arm mirrors etc. Some even have original power steering in the 60s models. These are the other things to look for.
