I put a IHC V-8 in my B-1 PW. It fit pretty well. I believe the dimensions of a bb chevy would be similar to the IHC engine. Had to fabricate mounts, but all in all not too bad.
My advice is just start the project take everything one step at a time, and everything will work with enough fabricating!!
