: I have a '73 W200 that I am building. I have a 440 and a freshly built 727 to drop in. I've heard rumors that the currrent overdrive trannies are just a good old Torqueflite with an overdrive unit in place of the tailshaft housing. Unfortunately, I don't have any idea as to how strong it is, or if it's true. My future plans call for a 500 cube stump puller to replace the 440 at a later date. Does anyone know if I can put the factory overdrive on my big block case and how strong will it be? I have the remote mount 205 T-case and know it would need moved, but right now that would be easy, compared to when the truck is all together. Thanks for the help.
