I strongly recommend the use of synthetic oils in everything. Not just my experiences with it but ALL of the lab tests that anyone has done prove it to be Far superior to mineral oil in every way. We learned this on the track. Most everyone on the Pro. race track uses it. Brands like Royal Purple (my favorite) Red Line, Torco. These lubes Are SUPERIOR to ANYTHING that you can buy at the auto dept. in your local store. However, brands like Pennnzoil or Castrol make a very good synthetic lube also. I always try to use oil with the largest viscosity spread. i.e. 5w-50 for instance. With the synthetis oils these wide viscosity spreads are now very stable, unlike they are in mineral oils. However 10-40 or so is just fine for most uses. (5-30 is ok for newer overdriven cars that don't get the oil temps that these PWs build running flat out.) Synthetic oil does things that mineral oil doesn't. such as: It wicks almost instantly. on startup. gets in the craks quickly. It is almost impossible to make it break down also. And the friction rates are GREATLY reduced, esp. in the prof. racing brands. Hope this helps.
