Hi Mike,
There are a bunch of leaks in the top of the core. He cannot get to them without removing the top tank. He says the brass rolled flange on the header of the core will crack when he unsolders it and folds it out. He can re-core it, but the core runs about $600. For my purposes, that makes it DOA. I have had alot of work done by him in the past and he is not trying to upsell the job. I may have him relocate the bottom outlet on a 230 radiator to the other side. That is not without risk either.
