The one shown is a high mount, most likely a foreign import, I have been using winches and parts made in Japan by the company that bought the Braden rights on the MU2 and MU3 (MU2 low mount & MU3 High mount ) they are who I buy my replacement parts from, the bronze gears I get are exactly identical to the braden, the steel pinions are too except the bore on the pinion is metric son I have to bore it out to 1" (also is good hardened steel) And the PTO input / worm shaft is metric so the bearing housings and bearings, races and seals are now different, however, they fit perfectly in the MU, MU2, MU3 and LU4 winches (M-37)I can furnish the shaft with two housings W/seals and bearings for about the price of just the shaft, and one housing W/brgs from VPW! I have been using the parts for 25 years or so and have not broken or unduely worn out anything! In fact, VPW has discovered my source and lots of their MU2 parts are the same too as Braden discontinued the MU2 series in the early 1970s and only sells the LU, ALHU or ALU series since then! Also,, the gears are different in the later AL etc. series too. And as most of you know..I use my winches a lot!! (all of my MU 2s have the Japan gears in them!)
