I have the same project of converting an M101A1 to surge bracking.
Qhy would you want to put disk brakes on a trailer? Drums would not be sufficient?
With all the disk conversions people have done, you can get M37 or FFPW drum backing plates for cheap.
I looked for an M101A2 actuator but could not find one. I chose to buy a drum brake hydraulic actuator on eBay (see link below) and with my plasma will modify the A arm and weld it in place of the standard lunette hitch. I just need to get a Buyers lunette eye item #12872 from Northern Tools and a few brake lines.
