To conclude the story on the Meyer snowplow on my 65 Power Wagon. I finally concluded that the problem must be in the motor. I bought a new one and installed it today. It took me about 15 minutes (Dennis Sherman can do this in 43.7 seconds) and voila! it works.

It was a scary day however. Before I got around to putting the motor on the Power Wagon, I tried to take the tractor with snowblower out to clear some big drifts. It would not start! The solonoid clicked like it had done before...then nothing. I cleaned all these terminals...no joy . Finally I installed a different battery and it started right up. While not common, I think batteries sometimes don't work right when called upon to deliver a lot of amps and this one was 5 years old. At least I hope the new battery solves the problem.

This is pretty strange because the battery seemed fully charged before, it would spin the starter motor fast etc. Then I'd try and get just the solonoid clicking. So I'd clean and tighten terminals, and it worked for a couple days.

Anyway, for a few hours this morning, we had no operational snow removal equipment and that is a big problem at my place. By 2PM, both pieces of equipment were back on line.
