I have a twin stick dana 18 transfer case in my CJ5. One lever controls the engagement of the front axle. When the front axle is engaged, it will allow you to pull the second lever to the low range position. When a Dana 300 or 205 case is converted to a twin-stick setup it will allow independ shifting of the front and rear. You can shift into just front wheel drive if you want to. The hot setup with rockcrawlers it a twin stick t-case with cutting brakes on the rear axle. You can shift into front wheel drive, crank the steering wheel left and pull your left cutting brake on and turn around in your own wheelbase legnth..... might be kind of handy turning my M37 around with a turning radius slightly larger than a bus.
