If I am understanding you correctly, you are making a bushing to adapt your transmission's input shaft pilot to the bore in a ball-bearing type pilot bearing.

I would urge you to consider removing that ball bearing and making up a pilot bushing of proper material that bridges the gap between the pilot's OD and the ID of the bore in the crank shaft.

If you do what you intend, you need a good interference fit between the pilot bearing and the pilot bushing you are seeking. If that bushing spins in the ball bearing, problems will develop. If you make it too tight, you may damage the ball bearing as you install it. In any case, I think you would need a new ball bearing so that you could install your new adapter bushing in the ball bearing before you installed this assembly in your crankshaft.
