Hey Robert, slept on it and had a thought. I would check the wire to the ignition switch 1'st if you haven't already. If it's loose or broken you can still crank the starter but not fire. I doubt you fried the coil (what do I know :-) Should be a breaker up under there that will reset if it tripped once it cools down. I think I have an NOS spider harness here in my pile for under the dash. Not sure at this point if the ignition switch wire is part of that harness but you may want to change it too while you are under there. Kurt
