You probley Hydro Locked it. Water can't compress and the rod went. One reason for not plowing thru water with out knowing for sure your intake is protected. I have drowned out many off road rigs by swaping the filter and choking the engine out hitting puddles at around 30-40 MPH. With these newer rigs they have a intake funnel tube so if you get enought water to seal it off it will suck it right in. On the old style filters this was not as much a problem it would be hard to cover the air intake completely to suck the heavy amount into the engine to hydro lock it unless you sumerged it. Mark H.
