I know there are companies that bore out brake cylinders and put sleeves in them. My question was whether anybody has tried simply boring it out just enough to clean up the pitting, honing it, and NOT putting a sleeve in it. Boring it .010 or so over is a pretty simple machining job, since dimensions are not crucial and it doesn't need to align precisely with anything. It looks to me like the rubber cups could accomodate a fair amount of "oversize", but I'd be interested to hear from someone who's tried it.
