OT - but Dodge content

Hi all. Time to replace my toyota pickup. I use it as a spare vehicle and to haul stuff around (don't want to trash the M37). I saw a really nice 1994 Dodge Dakota but i heard about transmissions in them. Anyone have any advice about buying one???
