Steve, is this what you need? The very VERY early WDX trucks used the hand throttle cable. Then, they switched to the hand throttle rod with adjustment notches. Later on, they switched back to the cable setup. I will have to do more digging to find out exactly when these changes took place. I am not sure if the very early and the late cable setups all used the same parts or not. I have not owned a truck new enough to have the later hand throttle cable. This image came from the 1946 Preliminary Parts List. I do have a set of these early parts and they do look just like what is shown in the Parts List. Unfortunately, they are not installed on a truck so I can not get a current photo of the assembly.

As far as the “Spring” 14-23-2 attaching to the cab, I have never seen one configured as shown in this image. I do not know where the other end of the spring attached when shown this way. All of the trucks I have ever worked on have had the “Clip” 14-14-5 located between the square rotating protrusion on the bell crank and the cotter pin shown in the end of the “Rod” 14-14-3. The other end of the spring then attached to the horizontal portion of the “Shaft” 14-11-1. Make sure the spring is hooked to the horizontal portion of the shaft to the inside of the ear on the “Bracket Assy” 14-11-20. If it is hooked to the outside of the bracket ear, where the shaft is bent 90 degrees and points downward, the spring can slip when you have the accelerator pedal floored and the truck is running on the governor. If this happens, you will have full throttle and will have to reach down and pull back on the accelerator pedal by hand in order to slow the engine. Been there, done that, bought the T-shirt, sold it at a yard sale, don’t want it back. ;^)

Clint
