After dinner, I went down to the shop and got a cooling system set up (2- 5 gal pails of water) and started her up. Idle was running really high until I noticed the pipe on the crankcase breather was sucking like a hoover vac. I stuck a plug in that and she calmed right down and just idled nice like. That hydraulic lifter pumped up and I didnt have any more problems with it. Now I have to strip it down and clean it up. I want to pull the oil pan to see what kind of pudding is in there. Does anyone know a source for a full gasket set for a poly? There are plenty of sets for the LA but I cant locate one for the poly.
