All of you, what a wealth of knowledge. Thank you. Now I just need to try to understand it all.

Typically when we are snowplowing we do have problems with the battery discharging too rapidly because we are constantly raising, lowering, tilting back and forth. Much more so than just ordinary plowing. It gets old having to walk home to get a car and jump the battery. You may have a point about using a bigger 12V battery perhaps maybe like an 4D-12V, which would be interchangeable with our tractor batteries. If the battery can physically fit, can any 12V battery be used?

Second, our fan belts are 3/4" wide as I recall. Can you get a belt pully for it 3/4" wide and the same diameter and profile? Is that something you salvage from the generator? And I assume you have to fabricate a mounting bracket for it.

Lastly, the old truck has an ammeter. What can I do to save and use it, rather than mounting some other gauge on the dash or something.

Thanks again
