First you need to find out if your PW is positive or negitive ground. After you find out what post goes to ground you connect a wire from the other post to the coil conection that is NOT going to the distrubitor! That terminal will short you straite to ground if the points are closed. You need to conect to the side going to the key or resistor after the key. Leave the key off for this test if you can for starting in cace it is shorted out. Just a safty tip when you hook any wire to the battry for testing put a 20 amp inline fuse on it. Raw Battry Amps can burn things up quick and your fingers holding the wire. Mark H.
