To check the voltage, look on the volatge regulator,hopefully you can read the print. Also check some of the Bulbs it should state 6 volt or 12 volt.
as fas as positive or negetive ground, hmmm, not sure my 50 PW was a positive ground, but I figured that out seeing the ground strap to the positive battery post. did convert over to negetive ground, so my Denman O/d would work.
