The Poly was discontinued in 1966 in the US and 1967 in Canada. However as with most things Dodge in the 60's, never say never, I've seen a 1967 Townie, VIN verified with a Poly and built in the USA, as well as several other Special Vehicle Group things that defy the "Book". Dodge did what they had to do to sale vehicles and if a customer ordered a CSS with a 426 Hemi (two known to exist) then they built it. Early Sweptlines with automatics have what looked like shadetree mechanic's angle iron crossmembers with the manual crossmember hacked off by a cutting torch, but it is INDEED a factory install, they did it at SVG until the tooling for the highly demanded automatic could be fabricated for the assembly line. I have observed 8' utiline beds in early Sweptlines, that do not exist in the "Book" also, but that's a story for another day......
If the trucks have Polys and it apears to be a completely stock install (sometimes verified by the surviving original owners) then the Poly WAS factory install, regardless of what the "Book" says. If you have a Sweptline like this, please enter it at the Dodge Sweptline Registry at my site (thanks to Phil Street) the data base that is growing there will help determine just how rare a 1967 Poly is.
