How Do I match-up(mate-up?) a '67 bellhousing with a '69 318

Have Helitool engine conversion kit which needs 61-67 318 bellhousing for 318 to use rear motor mounts in kit.Found out I have '69 engine with totally different bellhousing so bought a '67. Guess what,it won't clear the '69 flywheel! It's apparently externally balanced and is thicker than a '67(internally balanced?). Duh, any suggestions?
And I apologize for using the term "mate-up". I know we must be extremely wary of offending people in this day and age.Dare I use the term join -up?
