I do not have starting and ending numbers for 48 PW engine codes, but in my spreadsheet of trucks here is what I do have:
The earliest 48 engine number I have is:
Serial number 83907191 with engine number T137-8521
The latest 48 engine number I have is:
Serial number 83910687 with engine number T137-12129
I have engine number T137-7438 from a 46-47, and engine number T137 14247 from a 1949.
So I would say between the upper two numbers, and not as far in either direction as the 46-47 or 49 numbers.
Closer then that is hard to be sure of, these numbers match what the other 48s in my list show for sure.
