If I remember correctly, the three letters are the prefix letters of the distributor number showing the manufacturer and particular application type. Basically any good parts store like NAPA can look in their older ignition manuals and find the distributor for the 230.2 L Head six (You can use any dist from 1946-1956 that is listed for the 230 L-head six EVEN in car applications! (In fact easier to find that way then looking for Dodge Truck. If you get a late enough one it will have vacuum advance in addition to mechanical and all you need to do is hook it up to a vacuum port on the carburetor and the perfoormance will improve too! However, little or partial spark would indicate to me either bad points, cap, rotor or a condenser shorting out or a bad coil or coil wire connection to the ignition source...
