If the bracket is horizontal, and it places the light further than about 1/4 inch away from the stake pocket, then the brackets could be off of a 2WD truck. It is quite common to find 2WD brackets on '46-'51 POWER-WAGONS and they may very well be correct for the very early trucks. Dodge may not have developed brackets unique to the POWER-WAGON right away. But, if this is so, they are not called out as a change in part number in the parts books.
