The guy you are talking to, Paul in NY knows just about as much as anyone about Cummins into Dodges, as he has two Dodges with 4bt's installed. Next, the Dana 60 is not as strong as the corporate axles found stock under the 1 ton PW, and the gm 14 bolt is weaker than the Dana 60. If you are thinking of the axle swap as a way to get taller gears then you'll need to consider a Dana 70 or 80. However if you do install taller gears the truck won't be much good off-road so a Dana 60 is propbably adequate for parking and rolling up onto the trailer.
The 6bt will require cutting up a lot of sheet metal, so you might consider using a vehicle of less value, like an old ferd or gm.
Lastly the Power Wagon was only a 1 ton, so if the Dodge is a 1.5 ton it is not a Power Wagon, but some other variant.
