After using both, I find a couple differences. Articles don't slide on the spray in like the drop in, but with heavy use the spray in gets cut and peels up in spots. Now I have spots that are scratched to the metal and other spots are stuck great. So now I have a big mess to try to get it out. The drop in last longer and isn't a hassle to replace.
