I have a leg and a finger. I caught my finger in a rotory mower and my thigh with a chain saw a couple of months ago. Know the feeling. After so many years of safe usage a moment and all that is gone. I got a pair of chain saw chaps from my wife for Christmas.
All I could say in the emergency room when I did my finger was "I still have a finger" over and over again. The Dr was surprised at the little damage. I got the finger straight on the end and cut to the bone and stopped the blade when it was ideling. Not sure how it stoped but I can not even tell what finger it was now.
Yep I agree, we all say "You idiot" to our selves once in a while. At least we are here to say it.
I am off to buy a new grinder in a couple of days. I have had one with a lock on switch. I am out to get one with a butterfly switch that turns off when you let go. Reason, I got the wire wheel caught in my sleeve and it would not turn off. My best frind said "you idiot get one with a butterfly switch. Now that I will be doing a lot of weld grinding on the Willys I am rebuilding it is time for saftey to take front seat.
